GIRLS ASSESSMENTS cancelled for this season
Skill Assessments are an additional tool used to help the committee with team selections. Friendship requests remain an important part of the process, along with feedback from coaches, age/year level and keeping an eye on the range of skills within a team.
Attending tryouts does NOT mean every other consideration is disregarded. Our usual policy of finding a place for all registered players will continue.
These Assessments are essential for new players and strongly encouraged for current Dunkers players.
Your player will be placed in a team based on their age. For example, U14 players refer to players who are under 14 years of age before June 30 2023.
We will confirm which age group you will be participating in on Sunday 20th August 2023

PARENTS PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING
- Only registered players may attend
- Players to arrive 10min prior to session to sign in, say goodbye to mum or dad and then wait in the gym seating area.
- Sign in your player at the Gym’s foyer and then we ask that you either wait outside or in your car until the session is over
- We have hired an experienced independent assessor who can give feedback to the club to assist us when it comes time to put our teams together.
- Dunkers Committee will ensure appropriate child safe supervision during each session.
PLAYERS PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING
- WHAT TO WEAR Players to wear their Dunker’s Singlet to the session. If they haven’t purchased a Dunkers uniform we will write a number on their arm (with a non toxic marker)
- WHAT TO BRING Bring an appropriately sized basketball (U8 & U10 = size 5 bball / U12 & U14 = size 6 bball / U16 = size 7 bball)
- Bring a drink bottle

Please note that the Committee will be involved in the Assessments sessions. We will not be able to answer questions at this time. For general information please check out the FAQ’s on our website.
Parents are not permitted inside the gym during the assessments as we find that it’s a distraction for the players to have an audience.
U10 parents will be required to remain at DCC during the 45min session (outside the gym or in the carpark for the reasons outlined above)
TEAM SELECTIONS are announced after the current season concludes, giving us time to confirm all the coach and team managers for the required roles as well. Training times are based on either Monday or Tuesday evenings at the DCC gym, and on the coach’s availability.
