*Please ensure that your player can play all dates below before registering. It is very disheartening for teams to reach finals and not have a complete team due to planned family holidays. Please keep in mind that Donvale Christian College often finishes earlier than public schools and so games may extend into the first or last week or school holidays.

Registration for Summer 2024/25

STEP 1 – Complete the registration form at PlayHQ and PAY for this seasons fees

STEP 2 – Wait for us to send you order information for uniforms with our new supplier

3. You’ll need to login or create a login
4. Fill in the required fields.
5. PAY for your registration at PlayHQ *
6. You may also be asked to pay for your Basketball Vic Insurance fee here (paid annually)
7. Multiple players – Fill out separate registration forms for each player each season.
   1. You will be asked to “Register another player” after each submission. Payment is completed separately for each player in order to capture Basketball Victoria fees which are time sensitive.

Dunker’s is in the process of changing over suppliers. We will alert you via our club’s facebook page (Donvale Dunkers Basketball Club) and via current team chats when this is up and running. We are looking forward to an easier process for everyone and the option to pick up from the supplier for a faster turnaround.

WHO CAN REGISTER FOR DUNKERS?

Dunkers fields teams for U8 – U19 aged players. Please note that 90% + of our players attend Donvale Christian College.

PREP STUDENTS –

• We highly recommend that players wait until grade 1 before enrolling in the competitive Saturday programs as for the majority of players, their ability to grasp the basics of basketball isn’t present in most kids aged 5 and 6.
• We do offer a short skills based junior program called Future Dunkers that runs each term 1 and 3 that caters for Preps to Grade 2. Click HERE link below for more information.

GRADE 1 & 2 STUDENTS

• Dunkers prefers all new players in this age group to have completed at least 1 Future Dunkers program or equivalent (Hoops, The Rings and other similar holiday basketball programs) before starting with Donvale Dunkers. Click HERE for more information.

FEES EXPLAINED

1. Basketball Victoria insurance cover fee $29.  This fee is an annual fee paid through PlayHQ. PlayHQ will automatically include the fee in your cart when it is due. *This fee goes directly to BV and is not passed onto the Club

2. Basketball Australia Development Fee $5.50. This is a new fee introduced by Basketball Australia introduced in 2024. It may not coincide at the same as the Basketball Vic fee. *This fee goes directly to BAus and is not passed onto the Club

3. Early Bird Rate of $295 Registration Fee per player. This season there are 17 rounds so we’ve been able to reduce fees to reflect that. Payments made after Monday 5th August 10 PM will pay full price of $310. Anyone wishing to register after Mon 12th August will not be guaranteed a place on a team and will pay the late rate of $325. The exception is U8 where the players are involved with Future Dunkers and will be joining a team for the first time.

SPLIT PAYMENT OPTION – Payments can be made in full or $150 up front. If you’d like to take this option please email [email protected] and you will be given a personalised code to use at checkin. You will then be asked for the final amount before starting back from the January holidays.

Paid via PLAYHQ which covers the following –

Dunkers Club Fee – $55

• Covers Coaches Gifts / trophies & medals / Coaching kit and medical supplies / website, operational & admin fees

GYM Hire Fee – $32

• All 1 hour training sessions on Monday or Tuesday night at Donvale Christian College.

MEBA Fees – $211

• Team registration and Team sheet fees for 17 rounds  – Club pays for Elimination Final and Grand Final
• Please note – the winter season saw a 19 round season, so we can change less this time with fewer weeks to cover

PRESENTATION DAY Fee – $12

Presentation Day will be held at the end of the season on the Sunday 6th April, to acknowledge volunteers and players for their efforts for the season. We encourage all families to come and enjoy the sausage sizzle, raffle prizes and medal/trophy presentations.

PLAYING AGES

UDPATE – Our association (MEBA) have changed Age Groups from even to odd age groups, as well as the eligible age for each age group. The purpose of this is to ensure that children fall within the designated age group at some point during the season. It will also standardise the basketball sizes used by each age group to match those used in Rep basketball.

What this means for the coming season is that the kids will basically stay with the same age level. If they were a top age U12, they will now be a top age u13. The biggest change will be with our top Age u8 who will now be in U9 with 10 Foot Rings, and our u15 Age Group who will now use a size 7 basketball instead of a size 6.

The only age group that will stay the same in name is the U8 level, but the top age kids will age out and play in U9’s this season.

TRAINING

Dunkers teams train at Donvale Christian College. Enter through Gate 1.

We train on Mondays and Tuesday from 3:30 – 9:30pm.

Training times are at the discretion of the team’s coach.
