From Basketball VIC
At Basketball Victoria (BV), we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and integrity in managing PlayHQ profiles. An issue that continues to be prevalent in ensuring this confidentiality and integrity is the process for ‘profile merges.’
A request for a profile merge stems from a variety of different circumstances that then lead to multiple profiles representing a single individual player. Examples of how this occurs include a child registering on their own without parent/guardian for the first time, separated families or a teacher/coach registering the player to a competition or tournament under their (teacher/ coaches) account.
To address requests for a profile merge we have implemented a structured process designed to protect all participants every step of the way. Participants’ personal and registration data is handled with the utmost care, ensuring confidentiality and secure management by Basketball Victoria and PlayHQ.
The profile merge process is overseen by Basketball Victoria and our Integrity Team, providing a transparent, impartial, and secure approach that prioritises the safety and trust of our community. Decisions are made by qualified BV staff who have the expertise to handle these matters professionally, ensuring a consistent and reliable outcome for all involved.
BV will work to the below timeline, which will allow participants with accidental duplicate profiles time to self-service and amend the issue prior to their next registration.
- Duplicate account holders will be emailed the self-service instructions on 05/02/2025. Click below.
- The functionality to skip the claim profile page on PlayHQ will be disabled on 13/02/2025.
- A recap of the self-service process will be added to the community connect email in the month of February.
