Early Bird Rates
- $305 – Register by Friday 8th August before 10pm to secure the discounted rate.
- $320 – Regular registration fee (closes Friday 15th August at 10pm).
- $335 – Late registration fee. Late registrations won’t be considered and cannot be guaranteed until our team selection meeting.
*Please note PlayHQ charges a small service fee

Registration Timeline
Please note that the registration process takes several weeks. While it’s rare that we can’t find a team placement for a player, we will notify you early in the process if that happens and refund you Club and uniform costs.
MEBA requires us to submit proposed teams by late August.
Team Announcements
Teams will be announced after the current season concludes in late September.
Before teams are finalised, our Committee must recruit and onboard Coaches and Team Managers, ensuring compliance with Child Safety Standards—a process that takes time. We appreciate your patience as our volunteers work diligently to organize teams as quickly as possible.

SEASON DATES
*Please ensure that your player can play all dates below before registering. It is very disheartening for teams to reach finals and not have a complete team due to planned family holidays. Please keep in mind that Donvale Christian College often finishes earlier than public schools and so games may extend into the first or last week or school holidays.

Registration for Summer 2025/26
STEP 1 – Complete the registration form at PlayHQ and PAY for this seasons fees
STEP 2 – Order your uniform if you need one ASAP.
* If for some reason we can’t find a place in a team for your player we will refund you your Season fee and cost of uniform

STEP 1 – PLAYHQ
- This link takes you to PlayHQ’s Dunkers page.
- You’ll need to hover over SUMMER 2025/26 – “Register a Player” then “Get Started”.
- You’ll need to login or create a login
- Fill in the required fields.
- PAY for your registration at PlayHQ *
- You may also be asked to pay for your Basketball Victoria Insurance fee here (paid annually)
- Multiple players – Fill out separate registration forms for each player each season.
- You will be asked to “Register another player” after each submission. Payment is completed separately for each player in order to capture Basketball Victoria fees which are time sensitive.
*Coaches from Winter 2025 – please use your emailed code when registering for your discount.
**This task is easier to complete on a computer rather than a phone.

Dunkers fields teams for U8 – U19 aged players. Please note that 90% + of our players attend Donvale Christian College or are friends with students at the school.
PREP STUDENTS –
- We highly recommend that players wait until grade 1 before enrolling in the competitive Saturday programs as for the majority of players, their ability to grasp the basics of basketball isn’t present in most kids aged 5 and 6.
- We do offer a short skills based junior program called Future Dunkers that runs each term 1 and 3 that caters for Preps to Grade 2. Click HERE link below for more information.
GRADE 1 & 2 STUDENTS
- Dunkers prefers all new players in this age group to have completed at least 1 Future Dunkers program or equivalent (Hoops, The Rings and other similar holiday basketball programs) before starting with Donvale Dunkers. Click HERE for more information.
Fees Explained
🏀 Registration Fee:
Early Bird: $305 | Regular: $320 Late: $335*
- Dunkers Club Fee – $74 (Coaches gifts / trophies & medals / Coaching kit and medical supplies / Presentation day, website, Club Registrar, operations and admin fees)
- Dunkers DCC Gym Hire Fee – $32
- MEBA Fee – $214 (Team registration and sheet fees for 16 rounds)
- Elimination Finals and Grand Finals are covered by Dunkers
- * We put in a significant amount of work and late registrations are very disruptive. We encourage everyone to make use of the early bird discount.
🏀 Additional Fees from Basketball Victoria* :
- Basketball Victoria Insurance: $32 (annual, paid via PlayHQ).
- Basketball Australia Development Fee: $5.50 (introduced in 2024).
*These fees are not refundable from Dunkers if you decide to not continue the season. In some circumstances Basketball Victoria will refund them.
- Returning Coaches: Use your discount code when registering.
- Payment Deferral: For those interested in a part payment option, you can now opt to pay $150 and defer the rest until half way through the season. No longer requires a code, there is an option at checkout in PlayHQ to do this. The balance is due mid-January next year and you will receive a reminder directly from PlayHQ.
Playing Ages
Our association (MEBA) have changed Age Groups (Summer 2024/25) from even to odd age groups, as well as the eligible age for each age group. The purpose of this is to ensure that children fall within the designated age group at some point during the season. It will also standardise the basketball sizes used by each age group to match those used in Rep basketball.
Recent changes to note –
- U9s play on 10 Foot Rings (rather than the lower ring height previously used)
- U15 Boys and up will play with size 7 basketballs

Training
Dunkers teams train at Donvale Christian College. Enter through Gate 1.
We train on Mondays and Tuesday from 3:30 – 9:30pm.
Training times are at the discretion of the team’s coach. We are not able to accomodate requests for training days and times. Please reserve Monday and Tuesday afternoons for a possible training time.
It is expected that U8 and U9 players will have a parent/guardian accompany them at training. DCC Gym
PLEASE NOTE –
Students of DCC are not permitted to remain unaccompanied on school grounds before their training session.
